Netherlands Bach Society | Bach - Adagio from Brandenburg Concerto no. 1 in F major BWV 1046 - Sato | Netherlands Bach Society @bach | Uploaded 8 months ago | Updated 8 minutes ago
In the Adagio from the First 'Brandenburg' concerto - performed here for All of Bach with Shunske Sato and Emma Black - the violin and oboe dance together. The instruments exchange the dramatic melody in a composition in which they are equally important. The democratic character of the Adagio is characteristic of all the 'Brandenburg' concertos: in these 'six concertos for various instruments', Bach explores the potential of the orchestral instruments, both solo and in combination, in numerous ways.
