Damien Chazelle's latest film Babylon is the best movie of 2022. Although it's been met with much controversy and box office disappointment, to me, Babylon is perfect. It scathes the Hollywood machine, while celebrating the miraculous art that comes out of it. Babylon is INSANE; it's unlike any other Damien Chazelle movie yet. It's a masterpiece in direction, acting, production design, Justin Hurwitz's score. Babylon is a modern Hollywood epic in the truest sense; a movie that detests the culture but loves the art form. Margot Robbie gives her best performance ever, Brad Pitt turns in a performance for the ages, and Diego Calva arrives as a revelation.
