It’s so frustrating to feed your baby, finally get them settled… and then see all that milk come right back up.

The truth is most babies spit up. This is often called physiologic reflux, and many babies are “happy spitters.” They spit up but aren’t bothered, feed well, and continue gaining weight.

Common reasons include:
✔️ An immature esophageal muscle
✔️ Swallowing air
✔️ Latch issues
✔️ Positioning or tight neck muscles

But GERD is different.
With Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), babies often show signs of discomfort:
✔️ Back arching during or after feeds
✔️ Fussiness with feeds
✔️ Feeding refusal
✔️ Chronic cough
✔️ Poor weight gain

Spit-up alone does not equal GERD. What matters is how your baby is acting and growing.
