It's feeding time for the baby piranhas! Just like the adults, these juveniles feed in groups. They like to have a wide variety in their diet so our Aquarists feed them on a range of different fish and prawns. When fully grown a red bellied piranha can eat around 1/8 of its body weight in a day.

These juveniles are currently being cared for behind the scenes as they are only about 5cm long. When they are around 15-20cm long you will be able to see them in the piranha exhibit in Deep Blue One. We will keep you posted!
