Baby Boomers Tribute Heroes | Sierra Nevada Pack Trip (Mid-1970s)
These are my familys original photographs from a pack trip into the Sierra Nevada during the mid-1970s. [74 0r 75?] Joining me were our neighbors, the Imbelloni family (Mark, Ralph, and John), another neighborhood friend my age, and a few others. For many of us, this was our first experience leading pack horses deep into the mountains.
Our destination was a high-country lake where we hoped to catch fish to help supplement our food for the trip. Lets just say... the fishing didnt go quite as planned. I still remember the long hike back to the trailhead and being absolutely famished by the time we reached the cars.
Nearly fifty years later, I restored and enhanced these original photographs using modern AI-assisted tools to repair age-related damage, improve detail, and carefully extend parts of the scenery where needed for a modern widescreen presentation—while trying to stay as faithful as possible to the original photographs.
Its been a pleasure bringing these memories a little closer to the present. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I enjoyed rediscovering it, and Id love to hear what you think.
