A very clever and bright African Cheetah Cub named Kinji from South Africa demonstrates how Cheetahs have some smarts. He's 8 months old and knows the sound of his big wooden toy box when it closes and comes running over to pick out a toy to play with. He chooses one and scoops them out himself. It's not always the same one. His only problem is not returning them after playing with them. That's the next thing he needs to learn.
Kinji is an adorable and extremely cute 8 month old Cheetah cub I met and played with when volunteering at Cheetah Experience. I could not help but like him. He is very calm for his age and mostly pleasant. He does bite a little hard sometimes, but it's a Cheetah! So can be excused.
He also knows to sit when feeding him and comes when you call him.... well when there's food. He makes friends with all the animals within range of his enclosure; a Anatolian Sheep dog, baby cub Cheetahs, teenage Cheetahs, adult Cheetahs, Meerkats, and even a leopard, all except for two small dogs that don't like him.
I have one other video of him teasing a Jack Russell Terrier on my channel that demonstrates his ornery side, but it's harmless. The dog hurts him more than the other way around. Kinji hurts me more when he plays with me, between the scratching and biting.
Later in the video, near the end, I filmed the crazy antics of Kinji when he hops around like Tigger the Tiger from Whinne The Pooh. He holds his stuffed toy and bounces around. Very funny.
