A possible evil Phantom? Yes! While this is not canon yet, it very much could be. I've been thinking of a storyline that follows after the original Dangerous Wings storyline, and a possible final villain could be the once heroic Phantom.I love the quote: you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. And it fits Phantom's arc well. She has been through so much horror over her lifetime (watching her kind be killed and being betrayed and almost killed by a former lover just to name a few), it just takes one more heartbreak that sends her over the edge.And this is where Ridge and Snowball come in. Two young dragons who grew up, looking up to Phantom, and its up to them to defeat their hero turned villain. And the reason I focused on Ridge more than Snowball was simple. He is the next main character, he goes through a villain arc before this, and Phantom got him out of it. Now its time for him to return the favour.M.A.P. My first speedpaint on this channel was actually a Halloween piece, back when I had like under 50 subs. And now, I'm nearly hitting 500 subs. This pack is growing quickly.About the piece:While this piece isn't scary, it features, not only one of my favourite animals but also one of my favourite folklores: the Kelpie. It's actually impressive, since I watch mostly horrors featuring an animal as the 'villain', I haven't seen one featuring a kelpie yet. It's such a terrifying tale. A predatory horse that lurks underneath the water, which tricks people with a beautiful form to drag them in whatever aquatic realm they rule.And the Nightmare, it was a bit harder to figure out how to draw it. Ultimately, I chose a heavy horse breed, mix of a Friesian and a Shire. And the orange in the mane and tail was a feature inspired by other pieces where the nightmare (or hell horse as it is also referred to) had a fiery mane and tail.This year, for Halloween, I'll unlikely dress up like I usually do as the weather has been absolutely awful the past week. But I will be keeping up with the tradition of watching the film 'Eight Legged Freaks'. BTW, I am scared of spiders, but that film is just great. (It was somewhere between 2014-2015 I made them a couple).In the original storyline (not the current one), Catacomb and Phantom fell in love, well, had feelings for each other, but after months, the two for some reason never developed their relationship, not even a kiss was shared. Phantom soon realized Catacomb, while never wanting to hurt her, was showing interest in Night. So with the relationship going nowhere, Phantom approached Catacomb and told him that him and Night should be together. Catacomb wanted to make sure it was completely alright, and Phantom reassured him that she wanted them both to be happy and that she'd eventually find someone who looked at her the way he looked at Night. So once they separated, Catacomb waited for two weeks to make sure it isn't a rebound, before asking Night out. I have so much trouble drawing humans, even on a good day. So it finally good to have Phantom’s human form shown. The human is Aloisia, the original form of Phantom. And yes, Aloisia can control Phantom’s fire and ice breath in human form.In the artwork, Phantom and Aloisia are in their shared mind. It’s a place where if you do go looking for both, you’ll find them. On most days, one of the two will be head of the mind, but if you do manage to enter the mind, trying to control whoever was leading the mind at the time, remember, Phantom is never chained. And she’s a lot more terrifying when angered.I feel like in about five or six years, you’ll see a remake of this artwork.
