The worlds first research reactor is going offline for good.
Beginning operations in 1957, the LPTR spent decades advancing our understanding of fundamental questions around physics, and nuclear fusion.
Following remediation and cleanup, the facility will be sent off to the history books having done it’s part to push forward the frontiers of scientific understanding.
