SS Statendam (1956) Horn - Audio Recording Maritime Nexus 2025-09-16 | This audio recording was featured in the beginning of a 1972 Apollo Cruise on board the Statendam. This cruise was to view the launch of Apollo 17 and to discuss the future of space exploration.Statendam (1956) was originally built as a steam ship and equipped with a steam horn on her funnel. In her later years, she was converted into a motor ship and an additional Air Horn was installed on her funnel above the original horn (as heard on Regent Star). This recording is likely her originals blowing.
