Vietnam War: Latin & Central American, & Caribbean Music: rateyourmusic.com/list/JBrummer/vietnam-war-latin-and-central-american-and-caribbean-music
As suggested in the title - "Vietnam sings to Cuba - Cuba sings to Vietnam" - some of the songs are by Cuban artists, and the other are by North Vietnamese artists, with the two countries showing solidarity for their respective causes. Released in Cuba. Two of the songs on the Vietnamese side dealt with the relationship, called "Vietnam-Cuba", performed firstly by Trần Kiết Tường, and secondly by Hoàng Vân. The Cuban artists were associated with the Nueva canción latinoamericana movement, many discussed above. Pablo Milanés had two songs: "Ho Chi Minh: Su nombre puede ponerse en versos" ("Ho Chi Minh: His Name Can Be Put into Verses)" and "Por que" ("Why"). Other songs were: Omara Portuondo - "Cuento para un niño" ("Story for a Child"), Silvio Rodríguez - "3,000 pajaros negros" ("3,000 Black Birds"), Elena Burke - "La hora de todos" ("Everyone's Time"), Carlos Puebla - "David y Goliath" ("David and Goliath), and Ramón Calzadilla y el Coro del ICR - "Himno de la victoria" ("Hymn of Victory").
