On the morning of July 28, 2022, a monsoon hit the Apache Junction area, causing road obstructions. Officer Josh Dupont received a particularly alarming call: a vehicle that was submerged in the flood waters and being carried southbound in a wash — a depressed strip of land that collects flood waters during rainy season.
Fortunately, at one point the car hit a bridge-like roadway in the wash and stopped moving.
