I was flying my AXN in first-peron-video and all was going well. Suddenly the controls froze and it went into failsafe -- most likely due to interference from the new-and-being-tested 1.3GHz video transmitter. As it was already pointed downwards when failsafe hit it entered a death spiral into a huge oak tree. It was definitely a plane-eating tree, and the poor AXN got lodged far out of reach.
Keet showed up and brought some strong para-cord and a weight. After about 30 tries he got it over the plane and shook it loose. I recorded the event with my little (and horribly unbalanced) FlameWheel 450. Unfortunately it only fell a few feet and re-lodged in the tree.
We ran out of daylight and mosquitos were eating us alive, so we called it a night. We'll try again tomorrow after work. Maybe I'll get lucky and the morning winds will knock it out of the tree for us.
