This week marks a big moment for the serverless community: the AWS Well-Architected Framework’s Serverless Lens received a huge update!

37 new best practices pulled from AWS customer’s experiences, the product teams, and the community. The Serverless Lens (a deep dive within the Well-Architected Framework aimed specifically at building serverless applications) has also been integrated into the Well-Architected Tool. Now, during a Well-Architected Review, you’ll now be prompted with serverless specific questions for those workloads.

More importantly, this shows just how far the serverless community has come in a very short time.

All three major clouds are delivering tons of serverless features. Serverlessconf had grown by leaps and bounds. More and more organizations are adopting this building technique as they understand the value.

Before you jump on and accuse me of being a serverless fan boy (though I am), remember that this is one more tool in a builder’s belt. However, this milestone shows just how useful that tool can be!

Congratulations to Heitor Lessa, Danilo Poccia, Ajay Nair, and the rest of the AWS Serverless teams on this excellent addition to the framework.

Also, congratulations to all of us in the serverless community!
