Raise your hand if you have been asked a question by a doctor that made you feel like they think it’s your first day on planet earth. 🙋🏻♀️ Recently I went to the doctor because I had a new rash on my face/neck/chest that would come and go every few days. He looked at my face and neck felt the texture and said “Oh nothing to worry about, it’s just dry skin. Start using a moisturizer and it will clear up.” This was in June. In humid England. AS IF I DON’T HAVE A SKINCARE ROUTINE AT MY BIG AGE. “Start” using a moisturizer?! Hahahahahah
Later that week I got a test result notification. I tested positive for H Pylori Infection. So I did my own investigations and thought my skin symptoms were Papulopustular Roasacea secondary to H. Pylori Infection. After taking antibiotics for the H Pylori, the rash was still there and getting worse(but would get slightly better after taking antihistamines) so I sent photos in to the doctor asking for a confirmation diagnosis of PPR and he responded “No no, it’s folliculitis. I’ve prescribed you antibiotics for it.” EVEN IF IT WAS FOLLICULITIS WHY WOULD IT BE BACTERIAL AND NOT FUNGAL AFTER ALL OF THESE ANTIBIOTICS. Also isn’t it irresponsible to be prescribing me my THIRD round of antibiotics in a row?
