Aviation Buffs Should Enjoy This One—Elephant Walk Line Up/Mass Takeoff/Weather Evacuation Exercise.
This significant training exercise took place at McConnell Air Force Base and involved a KC-135 Stratotanker and seven KC-46 Pegasus aircraft. The exercise successfully demonstrated the Air Force's ability to swiftly respond to an extreme adverse weather occurrence and thereby preserve many hundreds of millions of dollars in critical air-refueling assets.
