Save apr 15 seconds in Act 2!
Still working as of 7/2/2020 (Version 1.33)
You have to alternate between R2 + Left stick forward and L2 + Left stick backwards.
I find it best to alternate every second. It still works if you do it quicker, but I find it harder as my thumb keeps slipping off the stick.

My usually flight times flying in plane mode are about 2.07 - 2.10. Using the hover mode speed glitch they drop to 1.53 - 2.00.
It's quite tricky to get right and I recommend you get plenty of practice in freemode. I sometimes find myself flying away to the right, over the sea in instead of towards the hanger. Keep an eye on the altitude lines on the minimap as it will tell you if the Avenger is tilted to the right slightly, which will cause you to fly off course. Try to keep it level and maybes aim to the left of the marker indicating the hanger. Then if it does veer to the right, you will end up at the airport anyway.
I start the timer as the wheels lift off from the small, partially submerged island, and I stop the timer as I arrive in the middle of the hanger where during the heist, the screen would flash green to indicate the finish.
