In this behind the scenes video of Avatar (2009), Sam Worthington performs the most performance capture for Jake Sully's first flight on Ikran (the banshee) by riding a mechanical object with strong fans blowing wind at him as it moves him from side to side simulating what a real flight experience on an Ikran flying animal would be like. This groundbreaking VFX technology pushed forward by James Cameron and his team, is what allowed Avatar to be such a visually inventive film.
