Referencing real world animals served as the core element to creating the characters of Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. By meticulously studying the movements of creatures such as bison, hippos, lemurs, monkeys, and foxes, we ensured that our characters were brought to life with stunning photorealism.

Our London and New York teams, led by VFX Supervisors Ross Wilkinson and Andy Zazzera, harnessed their VFX bending to execute the task. From Appa, Momo to Hei Bai, our teams thoughtfully reimagined these characters for live-action, while staying true to the source material.
