Ive had the idea for this video for over a year now, but much like the Breaking Down video, the tone of the song doesnt match the tone of the video.
Shirley is such a tragic character. She loved Lelouch despite all the awful things he did, and she even forgave him for causing her fathers death. I really think thats beautiful, and Im still very upset that she died. Lelouch cared about her deeply (Im not sure about romantically) but his rage following her death is a side of Lelouch that is nowhere else in the series. (When Nunnally *dies*, he loses all hope, but his actions against Britannia are still calm and calculated.) I suppose you can conclude that Shirley dies by falling (and as she falls, she gains her memories) rather than what really happened to her (ugh!) Every time I watch Code Geass, my opinions on most of the characters change a bit, but Shirleys death ruins it for one character.
I contemplated adding text throughout this video, but I rarely enjoy it when I do, and decided this video is fine without it. The only issue is that I had some trouble deciphering the words of the song without looking at the lyrics (so I *may* come back to this in the future, adding text for the purpose of AMV contests or something.)
