We've put all of the GPU video encoders through a battery of tests using all the popular codecs. We've got everything from the latest RTX 4090, RX 7900 XTX, and Arc A770 cards down to GPUs from several generations back, along with a Core i9-13900K for CPU-based encoding tests. We'll discuss how they compare in both quality as well as performance, and why it's a good time to move on from H.264 encoding.
