UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and Oxford Robotics Institute (ORI) achieved a first-of-a-kind fusion environment deployment of an autonomous robot in the UKAEA’s Joint European Torus (JET) facility for 35 days.

The project aimed to establish the reliability of autonomous robotic technology and build trust and confidence in the use of autonomous robotics for inspecting fusion facilities safely and efficiently for a long period of time.
