In this video, I show how automatic tool breakage detection works on a SYIL CNC running the Syntec 22MA control.
We’ll go through how the machine checks the tool using the tool setter, what happens when a broken or shortened tool is detected, and how the tool breakage check is incorporated into the machining program.
I also show the Fusion 360/post processor side of the setup so the tool check can be automatically added to your CNC programs.
