In this video, a fiber laser is used to prepare aluminum and stainless-steel parts for welding. The joints are also cleaned after welding to remove aluminum and stainless-steel oxides. As shown, lasers can be integrated into automated welding cells to perform pre-weld and post-weld cleaning at the same time as welding.
