Building up on the good work by #UI5Tooling, project-piper and by leveraging some of the newer GitHub features, we have been constantly working on ways to further optimize our development + build + deployment process across different SAP environments.
This solution (with #GitHubActions) has helped to save countless hours of manual effort and streamlined deployments with just a one-time configuration. In this lightning talk, Vivek and Nitish share how anyone can also incorporate these best practices in their existing or new UI5 projects.
Some key benefits of this approach:
- Centralized and automated UI5 builds for both on-premise and SAP BTP (Neo/Cloud Foundry environments)
- Auto Deploy UI5 applications to SAP Cloud Platform on defined events (example: code push to `main` or `prod` branch)
- Auto Deploy to SAP on-premise as BSP application directly from GitHub (and yes, this takes just a few seconds, not minutes)
- Maintain code migrations between different SAP Cloud Platform sub-accounts with pipeline based approach ( DEV --> Quality --> PROD)
