It was an honor to be on campus at @howarduniversity College of Engineering and Architecture last week to celebrate the opening of its first-ever Makerspace, a 3,400-square-foot hub where students can turn ideas into real-world prototypes.
This milestone builds on a years-long partnership between Autodesk and Howard University to expand access to hands-on learning and career pathways for the next generation of architects, engineers, designers, and builders.
Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost and CMO Dara Treseder joined students, faculty, and university leaders to mark the moment and announce a $1.95M investment to support Howard’s proposed Construction Engineering Management program, helping prepare students for the future of digital construction in a $2T industry facing a major talent shortage.
From designing in #AutodeskFusion to 3D-printing steering assemblies and prototyping electric skateboard components, it is already clear that this space will unlock powerful opportunities for creativity and real-world problem-solving.
