We’re fortunate at Unplugged Performance to offer a wide range of performance parts that enhance Teslas across many driving applications. Whether it’s the racetrack, canyon, daily driving, or autocross, we support it all.
In this video, we showcase two incredibly skilled and dedicated drivers: Mike Parsons and Jon Bickford. These guys are more than just enthusiasts, they’re seasoned competitors and true ambassadors for the sport, with a proven track record of winning trophies. Whether it's local SCCA events or regional titles, Mike and Jon represent what it means to push the limits of Tesla performance on tight technical courses.
For those new to it, autocross is a timed competition typically held in large parking lots, where drivers navigate a course defined by cones. However, this type of racing is not about top speed, how fast you can get to a quarter of a mile, or endurance; it’s about agility, consistency, and mastering vehicle dynamics. While it may not look fast from the sidelines, the adrenaline behind the wheel tells a very different story (It’s even more fun when you have people as passengers).
Mike Parsons runs a heavily developed Model 3 that features years of refinement. His setup includes Unplugged Performance adjustable Race Pro coilovers, race-spec Front Upper Control Arms, Billet Aluminum Toe and Camber Arms, Front and Rear Sway Bars, Stainless Brake Lines, Street and Track Brake Pads and our UP Forged UP-03 wheels. These are the same wheels trusted by professional racing drivers like Randy Pobst. After over 2000 runs, Mike’s Tesla continues to dominate, proving how durable and capable these EVs can be with the right setup.
Jon Bickford is transitioning to a new Model 3 Highland after an impressive five-year championship run in his previous first generation Model 3 Performance. Much of his setup carries over, including Unplugged Performance Front Upper Control Arms, Front and Rear sway bars, Camber Arms, 6-Piston Front Big Brake Kit, and UP Forged UP-03 Wheels. However, his attention relies on camber, toe, to completely balance and tune out his newly built Model 3 Performance Highland.
After our visit, we are reminded that Autocross is grassroots motorsport accessible, community-driven, and addictively fun. We love the energy, the people, and the challenge. Now more than ever, it’s becoming inspiring to see more Tesla owners discovering this form of competition, and we’re proud to support it by continuing to innovate and supply the best performance upgrades.
To the entire Autocross community, thank you.
