While it is historically true that Europe has had its fair share of autocratic Regimes, I would argue this is not an authentic expression of the European Bio-Spirit, but an Asiatic import, which began with Alexander the Great; continued by Diocletian and propagated throughout the Middle Ages and Renaissance. In this episode I will go into why traditionally European peoples had representative governments and explain the events that lead to a partial reversal of this trend in Late antiquity and the Middle Ages and how this change was partially reversed by the Liberal Revolutions.
