What is executive functioning? Executive functions are a set of cognitive processes that are necessary for the control of behaviours. Which include selecting and successfully monitoring behaviors that allow you to achieve goals but also allow you plan and organise these goals. This is done by being able to shift between tasks and multitasking. However executive dysfunction is the difficulty in being able to perform these executive functions which affects people with autism, ADHD, learning disabilites as well as brain injuries and strokes.

Stimming or self-stimulatory behaviour by definition can be a repetitive autism behaviour for autistic people to feel stimulated. Whether its because they are understimulated (hyposensitive) or overstimulated (hypersensitive). These 5 autistic stims are just a few broad examples of behaviours that an autistic person may exhibit. Stimming is not exclusive to autism as it appears in those with ADHD, Aspergers, anxiety etc as well as neurotypicals/non-autistics.
Now I realise that these 5 autistic stims some autistic people may not do & that there are other types of stimming out there. I decided to cover 5 types of stims which the majority of autistic people show as this video is for people to identify autism stimming either for themselves/someone they know.
