Gerhard Berger has retired, Jean Alesi has moved on to Sauber and the Benetton team are ready to start the 1998 Formula 1 season with two young and upcoming drivers. Giancarlo Fisichella brings the "experience", making the move after achieving two podium finishes for Jordan in the 1997 season, and promoted from the junior team is rookie Royce Axelson, nephew of the great Richie Axelson, hoping to continue the legacy of the legendary name.
With such an inexperienced team Benetton hopes the B198 can carry them through a season full of change. And first up in that season is the Australian Grand Prix in sunny (hopefully) Melbourne!
