On the eve of his first Boyer Lecture in 2015, to be delivered in China, Dr Michael Fullilove received two voicemail messages. The first was from a senior Australian official in Canberra, who voiced their support for Dr Fullilove's lecture in Beijing. The other voicemail was very different.
