Australia's first aid delivery to Nepal's flood disaster zone departed from RAAF Base Amberley, carrying medical supplies, hygiene kits, and solar lighting equipment aboard a C-17 Globemaster. The flight includes 12 Defence Force personnel to assist with search and rescue efforts, as the death toll exceeds 900 with more than 4,700 people missing, including 43 Australians. The Australian government has committed $8 million in disaster support, with 12 response team personnel already stationed in Kathmandu to liaise with families searching for missing loved ones.
