If you load your last checkpoint while holding an item, it will get stuck to you. Dropping it will cause the item to mess up your movement, and in the case of seeds looking in a certain direction will cause you to move backwards at clipping speed. You can also for example plant the seed and it will stay in your hands, but I could not get a seed dupe this way.

This is version 1.0.0 so it may get patched.
