Copper Wire Theft? Caught in the act.➡️
All the right tools, none of the right decisions…
On the 7th about 12:42 a.m. we got a call of some suspicious activity at the 3300 block of N. Lewiston St. inside a construction company warehouse. Officers arrived on scene and found two suspects with a pickup truck near the loading dock, dressed in dark clothing, hoods up, looking as suspicious as it gets.
The duo was originally a trio, but the third suspect took off.
Officers took 28-year-old Brian Garcia and 51-year-old Raul Luevano into custody without incident.
Turns out, the group was seen on security footage inside the warehouse rolling out massive spools of copper wire worth $12,000 and weighing nearly 250 pounds…
The security company spoke over the warehouse PA system instructing them to leave.
Which obviously they didn’t and broke a sweat for nothing…
And shocker…no one in this scenario was “just the driver”.
The business also sustained about $3,000 in damages to the bay door. Both men are facing burglary and theft charges.
You may have all the right tools to commit a burglary, but doesn’t mean APD won’t catch you in the act.
