Sophia Clef | AUGUST WRAP UP @SophiaClef | Uploaded September 2020 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This is my August reading wrap up. You might have noticed that all the books mentioned in the video were written by women. This was a deliberate choice.
Since most of my to be read pile consists of white males from the 19th century, I rarely get to books written by women. This does not mean that I judge their works by different standards, or that I go out of my way to read them.
If you are offended by my review of a certain book, feel free to disagree in the comments. I am open to your suggestions.

1. "The Secret History" by Donna Tartt
2. "Zuleikha (Opens Her Eyes)" by Guzel Yakhina
3. "The Color Purple" by Alice Walker
4. "The White Dove of Cordoba" by Dina Rubina
5. "Geisha, a Life" by Mineko Iwasaki
6. "Who's to Blame?" by Sophia Tolstoy
7. "Possession" by A. S. Byatt
8. "The Sea, the Sea" by Iris Murdoch
9. "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston
10. "The Gadfly" by Ethel Lilian Voynich
11. "The Ring of the Löwenskölds" by Selma Lagerlöf
12. "Charlotte Löwensköld" by Selma Lagerlöf
13. "Anna Svärd" by Selma Lagerlöf
