The video educates the police who wonder why there is a disconnect between the cops and citizens. Why do people get so mad at the police? I laid out several reasons why the disconnect exists. There are more reasons, mostly legal. And some of these matter to some and not to others. That is why it is so difficult to find just one thing that causes the disconnect. Many cops do not follow the rules. Others violate rights with no conscience whatsoever. Plus cops never say they are sorry ever!
How do the police not know why we do not trust or respect them? I mean how can they not? It is really sad how much they change after joining. From my perspective and by talking to rookies, They all say they joined because they want to help people. I think that when they discover how many people need help and/or how many people do not want help, that they begin to realize that , really, they can not help anyone at all. And then they move onto another stage of their career. I think when they hit the 3-5 year mark and they have accepted the fact that they really are not going to change the world they are then just trying to block all the bad things they s by being a real jerk to the citizens. They begin to look for guidance from the older cops instead of fraternizing with the rookies. They learn to be mean as a defense mechanism. The older guys tell him, "Just do your job and go home!" and because of the stress they find some sort of small pleasure in ruining a citizen's life. This could be a falsified report or even a jail sentence. By year 6,7 or 8, they have perfected this game. They get over on all those that do not know their rights, they lie in court and have several complaints from citizens in their file. This is the time period where they have worked up the courage to perhaps get in trouble for police brutality or even a wrongful death. Pay attention to the cops that kill. They average about 8 years on the force when they kill somebody. Anyways-- there are no studies on this. This just comes from my own observations. Because cops cannot figure out why we do not like them, I put this collection together for them. It is a repurposed video from used content.
