Audioslave definitely showed us an even groovier foundation by Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk. RATM is in itself a very funk heavy and solidly grooving band, but Audioslave takes that to another level, adding a more melodic and emotional vibe to the riffs. That didn't limit Tim to continue to explore and experimented more with sounds and effects to add textures and fill the foundation, particularly around Tom's solos and arrangements
