The Hub + Vox combo was compared against the following chain:
Sonore ultraRendu (HW v1.3, SW v2.9 youtu.be/qEOOE9rP6Rs) USB output into Singxer SU-6 DDC (youtu.be/6dr4T0Sd_NU). 2 I2S outputs, one into Ferrum WANDLA GSE w/ Hypsos power supply (youtu.be/Qh1b-XFH7R8) directly into Ferrum Oor amp (youtu.be/xUsRyoBPdyk), the other into LAiV Harmony DAC (youtu.be/GtKG5_ABzAg).
The XLR outputs of the Vox, Harmony, and Oor preout were routed through a XLR switch matrix and then into the Niimbus HPA US5 Pro (youtu.be/lLlPJyvGSIQ) and Cayin HA-300mk3 (youtu.be/dmLfnLTZczw) driving headphoens from the list above.
To test the Hub's upsampling quality, the Hub's I2S output was connected to the I2S input of the LAiV Harmony in the chain above. 32 bit 768 KHz PCM wave files created with PGGB were played through the Sonore ultraRendu connected direct USB into the LAiV Harmony's USB input. The Harmony was in NOS mode in both cases.
The Hub + Vox combo was also used in a 2.2 speaker system. The Vox's XLR output went into a Nereneas eXpLoRer XLR switch (review coming!) then into a Schiit Kara F preamp (review coming!) XLR output into Sublime Acoustics K235 crossover (review coming!) then mids/highs XLR output to Schiit Wotan amp (review coming) driving Gingko Audio FosterVu speaker (review coming!) and lows via RCA to pair of SVS SB-1000 Pro subwoofers (youtu.be/ufCjo0hs4XE).
In that speaker system the Hub + Vox was compared against HQP on a MacMini USB output through a JDS Labs Synapse Max (youtu.be/SEKpqjRapSY) then into Lampizator Baltic 3 DAC (youtu.be/QShvh2rqETc) into eXpLoRer - same from there. Ditto with Sonore opticalRendu streamer (review coming!) into Berkeley Alpha USB DDC ((youtu.be/94AvDeeRjHA) AES output into Berkeley Alpha S2 DAC (youtu.be/JY3c4HEyH0s) XLR output into eXpLoRer. Ditto again with Chord 2Go+2Yu (youtu.be/S3O7JNOJIqI) USB output into Chord MScaler (review coming!) then dual BNC into Chord Hugo 2 DAC (youtu.be/uuSOYjFtcvY) then a P&W RCA-to-4.4mm adapter with 4.4mm pentaconn to 3-pin XLR adapter cable into eXpLoRer.
Finally, all DAC combinations fed into eXpLoRer were also checked with the 2nd XLR output going into an LTA Z10e (youtu.be/Bft6HUsYDhE) powering HiFiMan Susvara Unveiled.
