This video should tell you everything that you need to know about how music is approved for use in Geometry Dash, as well as why and how it came to be that way based on conflicts and resolutions between the game and its audio partner website, Newgrounds.
This is my first time editing a video on a computer instead of an iPad, so it probably looks REALLY scuffed, but it gets the job done. I used ShotCut, an open source video editor that is surprisingly really effective despite not being very intuitive. You can download it for free at shotcut.org and probably start making better videos than me immediately.

It feels SO damn good to finally be done with this. It took a village, really. Even though this is a solo, there are a lot of people without whom this would not have been finished or released to you today.
I started Flicker on October 19th, 2019, exactly one year ago. I have Jayuff to thank for showing me this song back in 2017, and I have always secretly hoped that he would make a level with it, as he is one of the most capable builders to have ever existed. After two years, I accepted that it wasnt happening, and took it upon myself to bring the song to life, even if I couldnt do it half as well as he couldve.
I made a 23 minute video of all of my unfinished projects called Unfinished GD Stuff exactly a week later, and this is the only level that I did not show because I was worried about someone who wasnt Jayuff making a level with the same concept, with the same song, better and more quickly. I am sure even a B tier builder could have executed this in better ways than I am capable of imagining, but this was special to me and, perhaps selfishly, I kept it behind closed doors.
Alas, the collision slopes in the UFO gave me a LOT of trouble; sometimes the UFO would just stick to them for a second for no reason, sometimes changing the movement values of the solid part of the object by ONE SINGLE DIGIT shifted the path from being too high to too low. I got frustrated and gave up on it.
Several months later, I did a stream showcasing 10 of my unfinished levels, revealing Flicker to the public for the first time. Its thanks to my regular viewers on Twitch choosing this level that I found motivation to continue working on the level, even though all that they watched me do that stream was suffer through the moving slope hitboxes until I finally got them right.
I dont know if I couldve stayed motivated to continue building this without the continued support of Pan, Cerberus, Drift, CamGotBitten, Viprin, Subwoofer, Pauze, Tony, mbed, and many other close friends who I perhaps too constantly updated with my very slow but steady progress.
I started building this level as a high school senior, and finished this level as a freshman in college. That transition has made me even slower than I already was, and there are dozens if not hundreds of people on Discord who helped me stick with it and not give up, whether they know that they helped or not.
The level would also not be playable if it werent for its playtesters, Lowee and Cerberus, who found at least 15 ways that you could skip a huge chunk of the gameplay, including its most fundamental parts. I appreciate their detailed feedback and have put some time and care into fixing everything that they found.
With that, I present to you, on its one-year anniversary, what I would consider my magnum opus. Flicker is the level that I am most proud of, and one of the few levels that I am at all proud to call mine. While it has been a long and grueling process, I have still had so much fun putting it together, and I hope that today everyone else can have fun playing it or at least observing it from a safe distance.
I am not sure if I will be able to finish levels after this. My first semester of college has already been quite difficult to manage, and thanks to COVID making a lot of it online, I am only on easy mode so far. While this level is far from perfect, I put all of me into it to ensure that I would be satisfied with it being my last, just in case it is. If I do continue building in the future, I am almost certainly not releasing another level before 2.2 comes out, whenever it may be.
This level will be released as soon as the premiere of this video ends. Enjoy the ride, and take a break if you get a headache!

Pretty much the only song of mine that people actually know about xD
Im uploading this to YouTube because, while it isnt as acceptable as Distant Lands, people wanted the full song for Twitch song requests rather than videos of GHS beating the level I made to the song that ended up being Daily.
Some people think this is good, and others think its trash. Personally, I dont think either answer is right or wrong. Ill leave you to your opinions :p

This was made maybe three or four days after Lithium was made (which was at least a month or two ago); Im not actually able to make a song in three minutes xD
This isnt just the sequel to Lithium; technically, there are a ton of sequels to Lithium in store. This whole element thing is like a series of songs that show development in professionalism and mastery in music-making. Im on the very low end :p
The reason why you wont see Hydrogen, Helium, or Boron here is because they suck balls. I might upload Carbon though :p")
