How to update navigation maps in Audi #MMI MIB2 system. New maps can be downloaded for free and installed easily on the Audi MMI system. Even if you are using CarPlay or AndroidAuto, Audi MMI maps are used for Traffic Sign Recognition and predictive cruise control. By keeping them up to date you will make sure that those features work as expected.
âšī¸ Prepare empty SD card. Format it with FAT 32 or exFAT file system. Download #maps package, extract it, and copy to the SD card. Insert the card into SD1 port, got o MENU, Setup MMI, System update, SD1, Start #update. Wait 30 to 50 minutes for the update to complete.
đ This tutorial was made in Audi A7 (4G) but the same procedure will apply to all MIB2 High navigation units. The same map update is used not only in Audi, but also in Volkswagen, Seat, and Skoda cars.
