October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Victims of abuse often seek out help in times of need by reaching out to local women's shelters. Women's Center of Brazoria County is in need of help in order to continue their mission. You can help them raise money for a new Angleton shelter by attending a masquerade ball fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 19. More info on their website bcwomenscenter.com.
