hey loves. Most of you don't know this, but I'm currently in the AMV Alliance's AMV Beta Wars Battle Tourney thing. Last round, I was ashamed of my entry and didn't upload; however, I dig this one. :3 so...I'm alive, I promise!! I'm doing a TON of MEP parts, some contest pieces, and a few random things, so you will get moe uploads soon. Meanwhile, PLEASE GO VOTE FOR A WINNER IN MY BATTLE:

I tried to fit all four themes, but I will admit the last one isnt shown very fully in this.
Greek Myth- I actually combined two myths; Helen of Troy and my favorite, Cassandra.
Fighting Fate- Apollo doomed Cassandra to never be believed and to be powerless. Aphrodite doomed Helen to never find any real love. both of them are able to defy the fate set by the gods, and maybe change the prophecies Cassandra is having.
Isolation- Seen after she returns from Apollo, Cassandra is isolated by the high priest condemning her and the others ignoring her. Helen is isolated by moving from relationship to relationship, feeling no love.
Found Family- Helen and Cassandra fine security and understanding in each other. They become each others family and each others primary relationship.
Quick who is who!
Serah is Cassandra, Yuna is Helen. If you know their myths, the rest may be easy? Caius is Apollo, Dysley is the high priest, Seymour is Menelaus, Tidus is Paris, Gadot is Thymoetes, Trojan horse is the Trojan horse.
And the story. For this, Ill be using character names, so its easier to not have to reference the list. There are some changes from the myths for my own convenience.
CHAPTER ONE:
Serah is taken by Caius, the god of many things, including prophecy. He propositions Serah, who refuses him immediately. He grows angry and strikes her with his magic. He curses her to have true prophecies, but to never be believed, and to be shunned and helpless to aid others. She has visions as soon as she returns, including one of a phoenix and another of the destruction of Troy. She goes to high priest Dysley and begins to tell him of her visions, but he condemns her, accusing her of spreading fear and lies. She argues back, but he casts her out of the priesthood, and her friends turn their backs on her. Weeks pass with no visions, then she has a vision of prince Tidus and a woman she does not know being gunned down.
CHAPTER TWO:
Yuna marries Seymour in a grand ceremony, full of pomp, and begins her life as unwilling queen. Seymour knows his wife is beautiful and unhappy with him, and keeps close eye on her lest she stray. Somehow, he doesnt see the looks passed between visiting prince Tidus of Troy and Yuna. Yuna and Tidus meet at night, and Yuna agrees to leave with him, but lets him know she is incapable of feeling love for him or anyone else. They escape the palace, heading back to Troy. Back at Troy, she addresses the public, introducing herself, and Serah immediately recognizes her from the vision.
CHAPTER THREE: [there is a time skip]
Serah has a vision of Troy being destroyed in flames as the Trojan horse is found upon the beach. She tells Gadot, who calls her a fraud and insists they take the horse. Yeul, another priestess, condemns her as a heretic for the horse is a gift to Poseidon. Serah is at a loss when Yuna approaches and says she believes her. They talk for a bit, and Serah tells Yuna shes leaving that night, and wants Yuna to go too. Yuna meets her on the bridge that afternoon and explains how she had to tell Tidus she was leaving. Tidus, of course, was sad to see her go, but he truly wanted happiness for her, so he merely watched as Serah and Yuna stole an airship and flew away.
Alas, Serah gets another vision in the air, this time with both her and Yuna dying. Has she really defied fate, or only delayed it?

EDIT TO ADD: Theres def supposed to be a romantic element between Serah and Yuna there. They would have seen each other many times in the last few years, but I had no time to develop a relationship so I kept it a bit...chill. So if you dont want to ship them, WHY?? but you dont have to. But thats the intent lol")

Any emotion, if sincere, is involuntary.
EMOTIONS: Ok, so if the judges would read more than just this part, they would FULLY understand a lot better! but, to summarize the emotions-
Honor- the struggle to keep ones head up through any strife. Yuna deals with Zacks death hard, and Marlene is able to teach her to keep her stance
Hope- Though Zack has died, Marlene gives Yuna hope for the future, cause she still has her daughter.
Grief- Obviously, the video shows Yunas grief over his death, and Marlenes confusion.
and most importantly LOVE- this video shows the love that Zack has for both of them, to risk and lose his life for him. The love Yuna has for Zack, to wait for and ultimately meet him again. And that Marlene has for both of them: to support Yuna and deal with her death in a calm, loving way.

The theme for my group was heroism. The moment I saw my group [which, ftr, I was excited to be in] was heroism my mind jumped the SOLDIERS of FFVII. I live and have lived most of my life in a military town. I went to school with the children of soldiers and future soldiers. People from my school have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fathers, mothers, and siblings of friends and peers have met a similar fate.
In this video, Yuna finds strength in her memories and in Marlene. I dont want to ruin the end....but, for the record, Marlene all grown up is Aerith. Woot.
