An investigation into a fatal helicopter crash in Far North Queensland has found the 23-year-old pilot was affected by alcohol when he crashed into a Cairns hotel.

Blake Wilson was killed when the helicopter he was flying crashed into the roof of the Doubletree by Hilton hotel on the Cairns Esplanade in the early hours of August 12.
