The debut ATOMIC SUN (self titled) album, began in early 2025, with Mike moogtron HEWETSON collaborating with guitarist Jon BARRY, both musicians previously played with prog bands in the past, Mike notably with GALAHAD in the late 1980's and Jon with THE FAR MEADOW and other prog bands.
With a love for the classic golden era of progressive rock, Mike began composing some mainly long form pieces, playing/ recording all the keys/bass and drum parts, with many sessions recording Jon's guitar parts. The music was influenced by GENESIS, YES, ELP, FOCUS, KING CRIMSON, MARILLION, The ENID, ARENA, IQ, OZRIC TENTACLES and VANGELIS, stamping their own mark on the music too, but with the extensive use of Mellotron, Hammond organ and moogs, ...the music is a good example of prog rock from that early 1970's golden era.
