So, I'm back on my bullshit. And by "bullshit," I mean that it's been two years give or take so it's time for me to rewatch all of Astro Boy 2003, reread the manga, and start writing a fanfiction based on the 2009 movie. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Astro Boy? It's my favorite anime/manga series of all time.
I did this edit obsessively in about two days and I think it came out pretty well! It's been a while since I edited to a full song, but Astro and Tenma's relationship gives a lot of material to work with. So much that it actually got overwhelming to decide what I wanted to use, but ultimately I think I settled on clips that went with the lyrics and helped show they're dysfunctional relationship.
I'm coming to you in the year 2020 to tell everything that Tenma is a bad father. Shocking revelation, I know.
I recently found the Japanese version of the anime, with all of those amazing scenes that the English dub cut out. Wow, that dub was awful. I'm considering uploading the Japanese version fully subtitled to YouTube so other people can realize what they've been missing. It would be on a different account, obviously. Otherwise, that's a huge margin for potential copyright strikes. I mean, fifty episodes. God, that's a lot.
