What drives changes in atmospheric CO₂—and what is its relationship with global temperature?

On 19 September 2024, Clintel brought together an international group of scientists and experts at the National Technical University of Athens for an open scientific discussion about atmospheric temperature, carbon dioxide and the relationship between them.

The workshop featured sharply contrasting interpretations of the carbon cycle, the human contribution to rising CO₂, atmospheric residence time, ice-core records, natural carbon flows and the direction of causality between temperature and CO₂.

Speakers included Marcel Crok, Demetris Koutsoyiannis, Frans Schrijver, Ferdinand Engelbeen, Peter Stallinga, Hermann Harde and Gregory Wrightstone.
