In this video I take a close look at the newest run of Atlas HO Scale B23-7 Master Series locomotive. I believe this is a rerun of the B23-7 from many years ago. It has an ESU Loksound 5 decoder, LED headlights and lighted number boards.
Highlights from the video: Model has good pulling power. It was able to pull 14 coal hoppers up a 2% grade on a curve. As for details, it has a horn and wire grab irons on the hood, MU hoses, coupler cut bars, and windshield wipers.
*Edit to add, the model came with separate cab sunshades in the box. They are for the modeler to apply. I forgot to install them before making this video!
It was lacking any kind of radio antenna, roof top A/C, or bell. The LED's were a bit on the yellow side.
I failed to point out in the video, it does have see-through steps.
In all, I give this model a 7 out of 10.
MSRP for this 2022 run is $289.95 with ESU sound from the factory.
