The priesthoods of fallen civilizations have recorded the same legends veiled using the exact same symbolism across the world, throughout the ages.

In Hindu mythology, texts such as the Satapatha Brahmana and the Puranas contain the story of a great flood, "Pralaya", wherein the Matsya Avatar of the Vishnu warns the first man, Manu, of the impending flood, and also advises him to build a giant boat. In Zoroastrian Mazdaism, Ahriman tries to destroy the world with a drought, which Mithra ends by shooting an arrow into a rock, from which a flood springs; one man survives in an ark with his cattle..

The flood-myth motif occurs in many cultures as seen in: the Mesopotamian flood stories, the above mentioned Pralaya in Hinduism, the Gun-Yu in Chinese mythology, Deucalion and Pyrrha in Greek mythology, the Genesis flood narrative, Bergelmir in Norse mythology, the arrival of the first inhabitants of Ireland with Cessair in Irish mythology, the lore of the K'iche' and Maya peoples in Mesoamerica, the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwa tribe of Native Americans in North America, the Muisca and Cañari Confederation in South America, Africa, and some Aboriginal tribes in Australia.

Myths of a great flood (the Deluge) are widespread over Eurasia and America. The flood, with a few exceptions, is an expiation by the water, after which a new type of world is created.' - Britannica

I have two copies of Scarlet and the Beast Volume 2 by John Daniel, the original high quality hardback version. I bought it then got a good deal on all 3 hardback volumes so I have two copies of Volume 2, if anyone would like to buy it I'll *sell it for whatever the cheapest price of the volume 2 hardback is available on Abebooks, ebay etc, they're fairly rare and expensive books. It's in very good condition.
