In this video, I'll explain why I often see atheistic and naturalistic forms of morality or moral realism committing the fallacy of special pleading. I am making this video because I really want to know why it is that so many atheists and naturalists believe in Moral Realism. I find this especially confusing given the work of atheistic scholars like Michael Ruse, Sharon Street, Jonathan Haidt, Richard Joyce, J.L. Mackie who make a compelling case for moral nihilism under naturalism.
What matters of course is having a consistent and coherent belief structure. I'd be curious to hear your reasons in the comments - I promise I'll be respectful and open-minded.
