This caboose is from the newest run from Athearn. It represents a Union Pacific CA-9 in HO Scale.
I ordered my caboose with an NCE light decoder, though a Tsunami SoundCar decoder was an optional upgrade.
In this video I do a thorough 360 degree look-over. Then I set the car on the programming track and show how I used JMRI to change the necessary CV's to suit my needs.
Next, I run the car on the layout to see how it looks rolling on the main line.
Toward the end of the video I discuss adding the separately applied detail parts that come in the poly bag.
Lastly, I show a few photos concerning the modification to the clear packaging to allow the car to be returned to its box after adding the step light details, and photos after the caboose is weathered.
