As a dungeon, the Lighthouse isn't that bad but, as a Lighthouse, I simply have to ask who the heck designed this place?!
Either way, we eventually make our way up to the top to bust Max and a couple of NPCs out of prison, and he shows his gratitude by never remembering Felt's name.
But the escape shouldn't be too much of a problem, right?
Nope. We get a direct encounter with Chaos but, unlike most games where running into someone in his position would result in an unwinnable battle, he actually doesn't fight us directly.
Now all we need is a way out of the city.

The various Marisa titles created by Double Cluster have been fairly memetic in the Touhou fandom since their creation. As I already did a Lets Play of Mega Mari, I figured that it would be interesting to return to the even more difficult Super Marisa World, which is full of Super Mario references in its bosses.
However, I still have PTSD from playing through the game years ago, so I convinced three members of the Bakashop Quartet to do a blind race of the game with some assistance from me.
Will there be a winner? Or will there just be survivors?

The main problem is that Doom Island can fly and we cant.
Luckily all we need is some Power Oil to complete its upgrade into an airship.
So of course theres none available at Epro, the town that sells it, and we have to get it the hard way.
Even worse if you forget to head over to the landslide area and get the key from Hedge.
One more mini-dungeon later, and were there!

Well, even though she would be a valuable asset, M.D. decides to NOT let Jerin join our party and we begin our trek towards the next town... after the next revisit back to the Old Cave to take on the next level.
With the goodies from that obtained, we cross the desert to the village of Suringal and learn that we need the aid of an elf to cross the Lost Woods- er- Forest. Now where could be possibly find an elf who can help us...?

The one specific pairing outlined in the manual, even though Mihee does NOT want to be a part of it as Gennojo has to practically drag her to the castle.
Overall, the pairing shares the same strengths and weaknesses in a few aspects but they provide some entertaining banter to keep the run fairly lighthearted.
Hmm, could there be some shipping about to happen?

Despite one of the sillier prologues as well as a fairly comedic tone overall, Emilio gains some good character development in this route despite who his partner is.
As for the ending, though-
Emilio, dont! Its a trap! Dont fall for it!
Still a good pairing gameplay-wise though as Fumiko can cover Emilios main weakness of his shots homing in on the wrong part of a boss, but thats only if you dont just bomb them anyway.

Even as we close in on reaching Doom Island, the game just cant help but throw one more fetch quest dungeon and one more traversal dungeon our way as we search the caves near Glasdar for the key that lets us reach the tower.
Fairly straightforward with some interesting luck coming our way at the same time.

Well, it was bound to happen: Viese comes face-to-face with Poe and is a lot nicer to him than wed be when his attempts to help out only hinder us. Iris is a bit more honest in dealing with him.
Fortunately, forming a Pact with the Fire Mana, Uru, is a relatively painless endeavor and we unlock potential for making even more recipes and well save that Glow Lamp for last.
After finding a map for Felt and seeing a relief with a familiar face, a series of events leads to someone else rushing through the Belkhyde Gate with oddly conveniently perfect timing.
I guess wed better let Felt take care of it.
Stay tuned for a bonus video to showcase an early method of breaking the alchemy system by using a loop of items in each others recipes to max out desired reviews for Mana Items and Alchemy Items.
So yeah, Ill be doing a bit of offscreen prep before the next full episode.

After another encounter with Epona, we can finally say we complete the first half of the Blooded Blight and finally catch up with the Holy Knights who, once again, somehow got ahead of us and did not disable all of the traps!
But, unlike Yunicas route, we dont meet up with Dalles at this point and instead get chewed out for not taking the time to work as a full team.
For now, well still ignore her and move on.

Things arent looking good in the town of Belgen as its basically under siege by the monsters who are demanding offerings of the girls in the village as ransom (i.e.: sacrifice) with one girl in particular having been chosen.
Since, as RPG heroes, we cannot stand for such a thing, we make our way out to give the monsters a piece of our mind... after two mini-dungeons to get the key to where we need to go and cross over to the island where we need to reach.

Time for my first seed of a new Randomizer from a game that I thought I knew more than I did. So yeah, theres a lot of salt.
But thats more entertainment for you guys.
Be warned, though, this ones long.
It also starts off with those who joined in co-comms also rolling and running their own seeds, but recording ran so long that they moved on to other projects, so theres some unusual overlap. But I dont mind as this would have had a lot of empty commentary otherwise.
